Create the Cognos administrator account

Create a user in the LDAP directory to serve as Cognos BI Server administrator. The Cognos administrator account must reside in the same LDAP directory used by IBM Connections. We will add the administrator credentials to a configuration script later, when we deploy Cognos Business Intelligence.

The Cognos administrator account is specified by the setting...

cognos.admin.username

...in cognos_setup.properties.

The Cognos administrator user name should use the value of the LDAP attribute that will be used for the User lookup field. For example, if the value for User lookup is...

(uid=${userID})

...use the value of the uid attribute of the account as user name.
