Create a cluster: Summary settings

Use this administrative console page to view and save settings when we create a cluster or cluster member.

We can view this administrative console page whenever we create a new cluster or a new cluster member. This summary page displays the configuration changes before you commit the changes and the new cluster or cluster member is created.

To create a cluster, in the administrative console, click...

Servers > Clusters > WebSphere application server clusters > New.

To create a cluster member for an existing cluster, in the administrative console, click...

Servers > Clusters > WebSphere application server clusters > cluster_name > Clusters members > New.

The bounding node group of the cluster is based on the first application server that is added as a member of the cluster. The settings for this first member become the settings for the cluster member template that is then used to create additional cluster members. To select a different bounding node group, in the administrative console, click...

Servers > Clusters > WebSphere application server clusters > cluster_name > Clusters members > New, and then select the appropriate node group for the new cluster member. When we select a different node group, another cluster member template is automatically created for that node group, if one does not already exist.

Review the changes to the configuration> Finish to complete and save your work.
