External cache group member settings
Use this page to define a single cache that is controlled by WebSphere Application Server.
From the admin console, click Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers > server > Container services > Dynamic cache service > External cache groups > external_cache_group > External cache group members > external_cache_group_member.
Advanced Fast Path Architecture adapter bean name
Adapter bean name.
- Adapter bean name: specifies the adapter bean name. For example, we can use a bean name such as com.ibm.ws.cache.servlet.Afpa.
- Address: specifies the port on which AFPA listens.
Edge Side Include (ESI)
Adapter bean name.
- Adapter bean name: specifies the adapter bean name. For example, we can use a bean name such as com.ibm.websphere.servlet.cache.ESIInvalidatorServlet.
- Address: local host
(ZOS) Address: On the z/OS operating system, the port on which ESI listens; otherwise, local host.
IBM Web Traffic Express (IBM WebSphere Edge Server)
Adapter bean name.
- Adapter bean name: specifies the adapter bean name. For example, we can use a bean name such as com.ibm.websphere.edge.dynacache.WteAdapter.
- Address: hostname:port (host name and port on which WTE is listening).
(ZOS) Fast resource cache adapter
Enable and configure Fast resource cache adapter (FRCA).
Enable FRCA by selecting the check box. Complete the following fields to configure FRCA:
- Cache size (required): Size of the FRCA cache. The default is 102400000 bytes. The maximum size is limited by the amount of available CSM memory that is managed by the IBM z/OS Communications Server. The value is rounded up to a 4K (4096) interval.
- Cache entries (required): Number of individual objects that can be placed in the FRCA cache. The default is 1000 entries. The maximum value is limited by the underlying support in the z/OS Communication Server.
- Max entry size (required): Maximum size, in bytes, of a single object that can be placed in the FRCA cache. The default is 1000000 bytes.
- Stack name: Name of the Unix System Services physical file system that supports the TCP/IP stack containing the FRCA cache. The stack name specified must match the name on the SubFileSysType statement in the Unix System Services BPXPRMxx parmlib member. There is no default value.
Important: This directive is only needed if the Unix System Services Common Inet function is being used. Determine if Common Inet is in use, and if so, enter the name of the FRCA-enabled TCP/IP stack.
- Transaction class: Transaction class name used to classify the work done by FRCA. The value is 8 characters or less. If a transaction class is specified, the FRCA processing is classified in Workload management (WLM). If a transaction class is not specified, no classification occurs. There is no default value.
(ZOS) Create or edit the cachespec.xml file and use the following example to specify that the HTTP request is externally cacheable to the FRCA cache:
