Enable and disable logging

This topic describes how to enable and disable logging through the administrative console.

We can enable and disable logging through the administrative console to start the generation of request metrics logs in the SystemOut.log file in the following directory:

 profile_root/logs/server

IBM recommends using the High Performance Extensible Logging (HPEL) log and trace infrastructure . We view HPEL log and trace information using the logViewer .

Tasks

  1. Open the administrative console.

  2. Click Monitor and Tuning > Request Metrics.

  3. Under Request Metrics Destination, select the Standard Logs check box to enable the logging feature. To disable the logging , clear the Standard Logs check box.

The logging feature is enabled. We can view the generated request metrics logs in the SystemOut.log file.
