Configure name servers
Name servers add configured name space bindings to the name space view by reading the configuration data for the bindings. If we use configured bindings, we do not need to create name space bindings from a program.
We can configure a name server to provide a display name and initial state for an application server, as well as specify custom properties for the name server. Configure a name server using the administrative console.
Tasks
- In the administrative console, click...
Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers > server > Administration > Server components > Name server.
- Edit the fields as needed.
All of the fields are mandatory.
- To make other changes, click Custom properties and configure a custom property.
- Click OK to register the changes.
What to do next
Examine and start the name server.
