Configure a bus to run mediations in a multiple security domain environment

Configure a secured bus so that it can run mediations successfully on bus members in different security domains.

The secured bus must be configured to use a non-global security domain. For more information about securing buses using multiple security domains, refer to Secure buses.

If our bus topology has bus members in different security domains, we can configure the bus to allow mediations to run under the server identity. This means that a mediation can run on any server in any domain. We do not have to add a dedicated user ID for each mediation to the user repository, or maintain a mediation authentication alias.

Use the administrative console to configure a secured bus to run mediations successfully as follows:

Tasks

  1. In the navigation pane, click Service integration -> Buses -> security_value. The security settings for the selected bus are displayed.

  2. Check the option Use the Server ID when running mediations.

  3. Click Apply.

  4. Save changes to the master configuration.

We have configured the bus to run mediations successfully across servers in multiple security domains.

What to do next

Use the administrative console to control access to the bus by administering users and groups in the bus connector role.
