Delete a bus

We can delete a service integration bus, for example if it is no longer in use.

When we delete a bus, each messaging engine on the bus is also deleted and any associated messages are discarded. If we subsequently create a new bus with the same name as the deleted bus, the new bus will not have the same universal unique identifier (UUID) as the deleted bus.

To delete a bus, use the administrative console to complete the following steps.

Tasks

  1. In the navigation pane, click Service integration -> Buses. A list of buses is displayed in the content pane.

  2. In the content pane, select the bus to delete.

  3. Click Delete.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Save changes to the master configuration.

What to do next

We must disable the SIB Service at server startup.

(ZOS) When the SIB Service is enabled on z/OS, a flag is set to start the control region adjunct process when the server starts up. When we delete a bus, disable the SIB Service to prevent an adjunct space from starting when the server starts up.
