Starting default standalone application server profiles on IBM i
WebSphere Application Server provides a default application server profile containing several example applications. The default standalone profile is ready to run after we install, configure, and start WAS. Start the default standalone application server profile to use it.
This article assumes that we have configured our WAS for IBM i installation. See Configure the product after installation on IBM i if we have not yet configured the product.
Use this procedure to start the default application server profile.
Tasks
- Start the default application server profile.
- Run the Start Qshell (STRQSH) command from a Control Language (CL) command line.
- At the Qshell prompt,s:
cd app_server_root/bin startServer server1
The startServer command starts the QWAS9 subsystem if it is not already started.
- Start the administrative console, as described in Starting the administrative console on IBM i.
Open the administrative console in a web browser.
