WAS v8.5 > Reference > SetsUpdate the global web server plug-in configuration setting
The web server plug-in configuration file settings determine whether an application server or the web server handles user requests. Configuration is based on the topology of the cell containing the applications servers.
A global web server plug-in configuration file must be regenerated whenever:
- Configuration settings are changed for an application server, cluster, web container transport, or virtual host alias contained in the cell.
- A new application server, cluster, web container transport, or virtual host alias is added to the cell.
The generated plugin-cfg.xml file is placed in...
was_profile_home/config/cells
If the web server is located on a remote machine, manually move this file to that machine.
We can update the global plugin-cfg.xml file using...
Delete...
config/cells/plugin-cfg.xml
...before updating global plugin-cfg.xml. If we do not delete, only the new properties and their values are added. Updates to existing plug-in property values are not added.
From the dmgr console, to update global plugin-cfg.xml...
