WAS v8.5 > Set up the application serving environmentManage profiles
We can create and delete profiles, which are sets of files that define the runtime environment. At least one profile must exist to run WebSphere Application Server. We can create profiles using the Profile Management Tool (PMT.sh) or manageprofiles.sh. On Unix hosts, for development purposes, non-root users can create their own profiles to manage their own application servers.
