SNMP based performance monitoring for WAS
IBM WebSphere Application Server enables the collection of performance metrics through the IBM WebSphere Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Capability.
The IBM WebSphere SNMP Capability (also referred to as the IBM WebSphere Snmp Agent) supports SNMP v3. For additional management options, we can also use the IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) based monitoring and management solution.

To use the IBM WebSphere SNMP Capability, first install and configure it. You then must enable security for the IBM WebSphere SNMP Capability to connect to a security-enabled WAS environment. Read the "Installing and configuring the IBM WebSphere SNMP Capability" and "Enabling security for the IBM WebSphere SNMP Capability" topics for more information.
After we have installed, configured and enabled the IBM WebSphere SNMP Capability, we can then access it and view the performance metrics. Read the "Accessing the IBM WebSphere SNMP Capability" topic for more information.
