Message expiration settings
Use this page to define settings for message expiration, if and when messages expire. When specified message expiration, the message expires after the specified interval of time passes.
We can define message expiration settings for tokens and message parts when editing a default cell or server binding. We can also configure application specific bindings for tokens and message parts that are required by the policy set.

- Click Services > Policy sets > Default policy set bindings.
- Click the WS-Security policy in the Policies table.
- Click the Message expiration link in the Main message security policy bindings section.

- Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications.
- Select an application containing web services. The application must contain a service provider or a service client.
- Click the Service provider policy sets and bindings link or the Service client policy sets and bindings in the Web Services Properties section.
- Select a binding. We must have previously attached a policy set and assigned a application specific binding.
- Click the WS-Security policy in the Policies table.
- Click the Message expiration link in the Main message security policy bindings section.
This administrative console page applies only to JAX-WS applications.
Message expiration
Whether message expiration is enabled. To enable message expiration, select this check box. Leave it unchecked to disable message expiration.
Message timeout interval
Time, in minutes, for the message to time out if message expiration is enabled. This field is enabled only when you select the Enable message expiration check box.
