(zos)Enable optimized local adapters over OTMA/IMS support
The WebSphere Application Server for z/OS optimized local adapters support has Information Management System (IMS™)-specific installation and setup requirements. Use this task to prepare the IMS environment to make outbound calls from applications deployed on the local WebSphere Application Server to existing unchanged IMS transactions. For this support, optimized local adapters uses the IMS Open Transaction Manager Access callable interface (OTMA C/I).

Activate the IMS OTMA callable interface initialization program. Use the following procedure to activate the OTMA C/I SVCs. This must start after an IPL of the system, where IMS and WebSphere Application Server are running.

If this process is not started before calls to IMS programs begin in WebSphere Application Server, the calls are terminated with the error, Abend S-F92.
Results
You have activated support for the optimized local adapters so that the WAS applications can begin calling existing unchanged locally running IMS transactions.
