Data source properties for application clients

Use this page to create or modify the data sources.

To view this Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT) page, click File > Open. After you browse for an EAR file, click Open. Expand the selected JAR file > Data Source Providers > Data source provider instance. Right-click Data Sources and click New. The following fields are displayed on the General tab:


Name

Display name of this data source.

Information Value
Data type String


Description

Specifies a text description of the data source.

JNDI Name

The application client run time uses this field to retrieve configuration information.


Database Name

The name of the database to which to connect.


User

Use the user ID with the Password property, for authentication if the calling application does not provide a user ID and password explicitly.

If you specify a value for the User ID property, then also specify a value for the Password property. The connection factory User ID and Password properties are used if the calling application does not provide a user ID and password explicitly.


Password

Use the password with the User ID property, for authentication if the calling application does not provide a user ID and password explicitly.

If you specify a value for the Password property, then also specify a value for the User ID property.


Re-Enter Password

Confirms the password.


Custom Properties

Name-value pairs for setting additional properties on the object that is created at run time for this resource.

We must enter a name that is a public property on the object and a value that can be converted from a string to the type required by the set method of the property. The acceptable properties and values depend on the object that is created. Refer to the object documentation for a list of valid properties and values.
