Manually synchronize all nodes

Step 13: Scenario 2: Migrating cells across operating systems using the command-line tools

We must synchronize the old nodes to the new v8.0 dmgr. Ensure that the v8.0 dmgr on the new host is running. We must log into the machine that contains the old nodes and run the syncNode command.

Procedure

1. Stop the node agent.

2. Edit
   node_agent_PROFILE_ROOT/properties/wsadmin.properties

   ...and change new host and port for the following...

   • com.ibm.ws.scripting.host
   • com.ibm.ws.scripting.port value

3. Synchronize nodes...
   cd PROFILE_HOME/bin/
   syncNode.sh myV8DmgrHost.mycompany.com 8879 -username myuser -password mypass

4. Start the node agent

Support information (generally applicable)

• Start and stop the dmgr
• startManager command
