For WAS V7 and later, listener ports are deprecated. Therefore you should plan to migrate the WebSphere MQ message-driven bean deployment configurations from using listener ports to using activation specifications. If we have a appserver clusters V6.1 members, do not migrate apps.

  1. Start the admin console.

  2. Go to...

Servers | Server Types | WebSphere application servers | server_name | [Communications] Messaging | Message listener service | [Additional Properties] Listener Ports

  3. Select the listener port

  4. Click Convert to activation spec

  5. For Step1: Supply activation spec name enter...

    • Name of the new activation spec to be created
    • JNDI name of the new activation specification
    • Scope of the new activation spec (Server, Node, Cluster, Cell)

  6. For Step2: Summary click Finish

  7. Restart the appserver.

  8. To complete the configuratio, refer to Related tasks.
