Overview

Profiles reference a single set of core product files, saving disk space and simplifying WAS updates.

The installation procedure can create a default profile. To create additional profiles.

• Profile Management Tool (PMT)
• manageprofiles

PMT cannot be used with WAS 64-bit installations on 64-bit architectures, except for the Linux for zSeries platform. PMT can be used with WAS 32-bit installations on 64-bit architectures.

 

Profile creation procedures

1. Create a cell profile.
2. Create a management profile with a dmgr server.
3. Create a management profile with an administrative agent server.
4. Create a management profile with a job manager server.
5. Create an appserver profile.
6. Create a custom profile.
7. Create a secure proxy profile.
