If you have a specific requirement to use an external HA software in your environment, you can still take advantages of the hot-failover support available in WebSphere V6 or later.
We need to configure your clustering software in a way that when the active appserver fails, the clustering software kicks off a script to activate the required services on the active peer server to take over the resource and continue. This feature provides a significant performance improvement by eliminating the server start time.
