In WebSphere ND, we usually have more than one Node Agent in the cell, and all Node Agents host the Location Service Daemon (LSD). So in case of a Node Agent failure, another Node Agent can service client requests. Therefore, having more than one Node Agent in a cell is the basic solution to ensure LSD availability if a Node Agent process is lost.
