Configure custom properties for J2C resource adapters using scripting
You can configure custom properties for J2C resource adapters with scripting and the wsadmin tool. Before starting this task, the wsadmin tool must be running. See the Start the wsadmin scripting client article for more information.
Overview
Perform the following steps to configure a new custom property for a J2C resource adapters:
Procedure
- Identify the parent ID and assign it to the newra variable.
Use Jacl:
set newra [$AdminConfig getid /Cell:mycell/Node:mynode/J2CResourceAdapter:RAR1/]
- Use Jython:
newra = AdminConfig.getid('/Cell:mycell/Node:mynode/J2CResourceAdapter:RAR1/') print newraExample output:
RAR1(cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml#J2CResourceAdapter_1)
- Get the J2EE resource property set:
Use Jacl:
set propSet [$AdminConfig showAttribute $newra propertySet]
- Use Jython:
propSet = AdminConfig.showAttribute(newra, 'propertySet') print propSetExample output:
(cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml#PropertySet_8)
- Identify the required attributes:
Use Jacl:
$AdminConfig required J2EEResourceProperty
- Use Jython:
print AdminConfig.required('J2EEResourceProperty')Example output:
Attribute Type name String
- Set up the required attributes:
Use Jacl:
set name [list name RP4] set rpAttrs [list $name]
- Use Jython:
name = ['name', 'RP4'] rpAttrs = [name]
- Create a J2EE resource property:
Use Jacl:
$AdminConfig create J2EEResourceProperty $propSet $rpAttrs
- Use Jython:
print AdminConfig.create('J2EEResourceProperty', propSet, rpAttrs)Example output:
RP4(cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml#J2EEResourceProperty_8)
- Save the configuration changes. See the Saving configuration changes with the wsadmin tool article for more information.
- In a network deployment environment only, synchronize the node. See the Synchronizing nodes with the wsadmin tool article for more information.
