Enable anonymous users to search public pages of the portal

To enable unauthenticated users to search public pages of a portal...

1. Put one of the following portlets on a public page...
   • Search and Browse
   • Search Center

2. Enable public sessions by setting the parameter...

   public.session = true

   ...in the Navigator Service.

   

   See Portal service configuration for more information.

3. Give the anonymous user access permission to the search portlet and to the page on which the search portlet resides.

4. Restart both WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Portal for the changes to take effect.
