Display content in a rendering portlet
Rendering portlets are used to display IWWCM content and components within a portal page.
There are two types of rendering portlets:
- Local Rendering portlet (Web Content Viewer)
- A Local Rendering portlet can be used to display content within a portlet. This portlet is used with the same instance of WebSphere Portal where WCM is installed.
- Remote Rendering portlet (Remote Web Content Viewer)
- A Remote Rendering portlet can be used to display content within a portlet located on a different portal server than the instance of IBM WebSphere Portal where WCM is installed. A remote rendering portlet can be installed on WebSphere Portal versions 5.1 and 6.0.
Only published content can be displayed with a rendering portlet. Draft content cannot be displayed and cannot be selected when configuring a rendering portlet.
