Parameters

 

Use the Parameters section to expose the parameters that users can customize for this alert definition. These parameters will automatically be editable in the My Alerts portlet as well as any applicable data portlets.

To create a customizable alert parameter, provide a new name for the parameter, assign it a value, and assign it a datatype. We can use these parameters in JEP expressions in the same manner as other parameters.

Each customizable parameter will appear in the Thresholds tab of the user's My Alerts portlet customizer. This customizer is found by choosing the user preferences option in the My Alerts portlet. Each portal server has a different way for users to edit their preferences. In WebSphere Portal 6, the option is called "Edit Shared Setting." Parent topic: Alert definitions
