Related bookmark

This topic describes how to add the "Related bookmark" feature to an alert definition. The bookmark adds a link to an Alert Detail page, which can go to a WebSphere Portal page, a Web site, or a file.

Add a related bookmark to an alert definition to help users resolve a problem or find information related to the alert. The link you define in the alert definition is added to the Alert Detail page that a user sees in the My Alerts portlet.

The following fields are available in the Related bookmark section of the alert definition.

  • Bookmark name

Choose a bookmark name that is unique within the project. The name can contain English letters, numbers from 0 to 9, and an underscore character. Do not use spaces in the name because it prevents the application from being translated into other languages.

  • Portal page bookmark

To add a link to a WebSphere Portal page on the server, select Portal page bookmark and then choose a page from the Page drop-down list. When users click the link in the Alert Detail page, the linked page opens in the current browser window.

  • External bookmark

To add a link to any external source, select External bookmark. Use a URL syntax, such as http://www.ibm.com. When users click the link in the Alert Detail page, the linked bookmark opens in a new browser window.
