The Installation Factory console starts the Product Selection wizard when you create a new build definition file. The Product Selection wizard provides several panels for selecting one of the WebSphere products that the Installation Factory supports.

Identify the WebSphere software product that you intend to install. For example, you might create a customized installation package (CIP) for the WebSphere Application Server product.

The wizard provides the following levels of product identifiers:

For example, choose IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.0 from the list in the Products field.

In the Edition selection panel, select one of the following editions:

Express

WebSphere Application Server - Express

Base

WebSphere Application Server

Network Deployment

WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment

The installation image for any of the WAS product offerings has four installable components for most operating systems:

At this time, the only package of the four that the Installation Factory supports is the WAS package. Select the package in the Package selection panel. Click Finish to complete the Product Selection wizard.
