Using the WebSphere MQ display route application

The WebSphere MQ display route application, dspmqrte, can be used to configure, generate and put a trace-route message into a queue manager network. dspmqrte cannot be issued on queue managers prior to WebSphere MQ V6.0 or on WebSphere MQ for z/OS queue managers. If you want the first queue manager the trace-route message is routed through to be a queue manager of this type, connect to the queue manager as a WebSphere MQ V6.0 client using the optional parameter

-c.

Note:
When using the WebSphere MQ display route application to generate a trace-route message, the Format parameter in the message descriptor is set to MQFMT_ADMIN. The implication of this is that we cannot add user data to the trace-route message generated by the WebSphere MQ display route application.

For more information on how to use the WebSphere MQ display route application, see WebSphere MQ display route application.
