Cluster Concepts
WebSphere MQ queue managers can be connected to form a cluster. This facility is available to queue managers on the following platforms:
- WebSphere MQ for AIX, V6.0
- WebSphere MQ for iSeries, V6.0
- WebSphere MQ for HP-UX, V6.0
- WebSphere MQ for z/OS, V6.0
- WebSphere MQ for Solaris, V6.0
- WebSphere MQ for Windows, V6.0
- WebSphere MQ for Linux, V6.0
We can connect the queue managers using any of the communications protocols that are available on your platform. That is, TCP or LUÂ 6.2 on any platform, NetBIOS or SPX on Windows. Connections on more than one protocol can exist within a cluster. Of course, if you try to make a connection to a queue manager using a protocol that it does not support, the channel will not become active.
