Terms used in this book

 

• All new terms that this book introduces are defined in the glossary.

• The term IP address means either an IPv4 address in dotted decimal form (for example 9.20.9.30) or an IPv6 address in hexadecimal form (for example fe80:43e4:0204:acff:fe97:2c34:fde0:3485).

• The term UNIX systems is used to denote the following UNIX operating systems:

  • AIX

  • Compaq Tru64 UNIX

  • HP-UX

  • Linux (for Intel and zSeries™)

  • Solaris

• The term Windows is used throughout this book to denote the following Microsoft systems:

  • Windows 2000

  • Windows XP

The term z/OS™ means any release of z/OS or OS/390 that supports the current version of WebSphere MQ for z/OS.
