- All new terms that this book introduces are defined in the glossary.
- The term IP address means either an IPv4 address in dotted decimal form (for example 9.20.9.30) or an IPv6 address in hexadecimal form (for example fe80:43e4:0204:acff:fe97:2c34:fde0:3485).
- The term UNIX systems is used to denote the following UNIX operating systems:
- AIX
- Compaq Tru64 UNIX
- HP-UX
- Linux (for Intel and zSeries™)
- Solaris
- The term Windows is used throughout this book to denote the following Microsoft systems:
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
The term z/OS™ means any release of z/OS or OS/390 that supports the current version of WebSphere MQ for z/OS.
