How to use this book

 

The first part of this book describes PCFs.

PCFs are the formats of command and response messages that are sent between a WebSphere MQ systems management application, or other program, and a WebSphere MQ queue manager.

Introduction to Programmable Command Formats and Using Programmable Command Formats contain introduction and guidance material. You are advised to read both of these chapters.

The reference material starts in Definitions of the Programmable Command Formats. See PCF example for an example of how PCFs can be used.

The second part of this book describes the MQAI.

The first four chapters introduce the Message Queuing Administration Interface and tell you how to use it.

MQAI reference contains the reference information.

Examples of using the MQAI provides some example programs.

Advanced topics describes indexing, data conversion, and the message descriptor.
