Preparing for customization

 

The WebSphere MQ for z/OS Program Directory lists the contents of the WebSphere MQ installation tape, the program and service level information for WebSphere MQ, and describes how to install WebSphere MQ under z/OS using the System Modification Program Extended (SMP/E).

When you have installed WebSphere MQ, carry out a number of tasks before we can make it available to users. Refer to the following sections for a description of these tasks:

• Customizing your queue managers

• Testing your queue manager

• Set up security

If you are migrating from a previous version of WebSphere MQ for z/OS, you do not need to perform most of the customization tasks. Refer to Migrating from a previous version for information about the tasks you have to perform.
