Hardware requirements

WebSphere MQ for iSeries™, V6.0 runs on any machine that is capable of running OS/400 V5R2 or later (including i5/OS™ V5R3). The machine must have sufficient storage to meet the combined requirements of the programming prerequisites, WebSphere MQ for iSeries, V6.0, the access methods, and the application programs, whether from IBM or other vendors.

The installation requirements depend on the components that you install and how much working space we need. This, in turn, depends on the number of queues that you use, the number and size of the messages on the queues, and whether the messages are persistent. You also require archiving capacity on disk, tape, or other media.

Disk space required

For the WebSphere MQ for iSeries, V6.0 base code and samples, allow approximately 165MB of storage.
