The WebSphere MQ namespace and object hierarchy

The WebSphere MQ namespace lets you uniquely identify, access, and configure individual objects such as queues and channels. These objects can be represented as an object hierarchy within the namespace.

In Figure 3, object instances are represented within brackets (< ... >) while object identifiers are not.

The object hierarchy is used by the client to reference all objects uniquely. The WebSphere MQ namespace is rooted into the Active Directory namespace (ADS://), and below this point the hierarchy expands. We can access elements within the namespace structure by:
