Set the PATH variable

To use any Java™ language application described in this book, including the JMS postcard application, have a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. For further information about supported JREs, see Checking optional software in this book. To ensure that WebSphere MQ installation can use the installed JRE, ensure that the location of the JRE is set in your PATH environment variable.

See the documentation accompanying your JRE or JDK to find out where the JRE or JDK will be installed to.

For further information about using a JDK see Checking optional software.
