Install DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS
This section explains some important notes and prerequisites to consider before installing DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS for use with WebSphere Portal.
Before you begin
- Review the Plan DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS section appropriate for your database.
Install
To use DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS as the database software for WebSphere Portal, have DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS installed on your z/OS system. Refer to DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS product documentation for instructions.
The following prerequisites must exist separately from the WebSphere Portal installation.
- Configure your DB2 Connect client with the following commands:
- db2 update dbm cfg using tp_mon_name WAS
- db2 update dbm cfg using spm_name hostname, where hostname is the host.name for the portal
- The DB2 Connect client must be installed on the same machine as WebSphere Portal.
- The DB2 subsystem must be on a z/OS or OS/390 platform.
