Use the "Remove Links" Button

1. Open the Authoring Portlet (Web Content Authoring)
2. Click on Content Library from the Item Views Navigator (located on the left pane of the Management view).
3. In the Index Toolbar, change the view to Content by Site Area
4. Select the Site Area you would like to unlink Content from by clicking on it once and then click the Remove Links button.
5. Select the Content you would like to remove and then click OK The chosen Content Items have now been removed from the Site Area.

Note: You must have Read access to a Site Area to use the Remove Links button. Note: You can also use the Link To button to remove Content from Site Areas by deselecting them from the Selected column.
