The Component Manager
The Component Manager is used within Site Items, Site Areas, Authoring Templates, Content Items and some Components to manage the Components stored within those items.
It is accessed by clicking the Component Manager button that is located in the Toolbar of Site Items, Site Areas, Authoring Templates, Content Items and some Components. The Component Manager can be used to Add, Remove Edit and Re-order Components belonging to an item.
Adding Components
- Open the Component Manager by clicking the Component Manager button.
- To add a Component to an item, click Add
- The Add Component window will open. Enter a Name and select a Component Type then click OK The Component has been added to the item.
Removing Components
- Open the Component Manager by clicking the Component Manager button.
- To remove a Component, first select a Component by clicking on it once, then click the Remove Button.
- A confirmation message will open. Click OK to remove the Component.
Editing Components
- Open the Component Manager by clicking the Component Manager button.
- To Edit a Component's Name or Type, first select a Component by clicking on it once, then click the Edit Button.
- The Edit Component dialog will open. You can change the Component Name or Type.
Note: If you change the Component Type, you will lose data that may have already been entered into that Component.
Reordering Components
Use the arrow buttons to change the order of the components in an item.
