Portlet Links Section

The Links section is used to enter the details of how you would like to Receive and Broadcast Links with other Portlets. Determines whether different Rendering Portlets will be aware of the state or context of other Rendering Portlets.

The portlet broadcasting the links can be a library component, such as a menu, or a content component, such as a site area.

 

Broadcast Links To:

None If selected, the current state or context of this Rendering Portlet will not be broadcast to other Rendering Portlets.
This Page If selected, the current state or context of this Rendering Portlet will be broadcast to other Rendering Portlets on the same page.
Another Page If selected, the current state or context of this Rendering Portlet will be broadcast to other Rendering Portlets on another page. The page to broadcast to is selected via the pull-down.Note: This option cannot be used with Anonymous Users.

 

Receive Links From:

None If selected, this Portlet will remain static and the displayed Content or Component will never change unless updated within Web Content Management.
This Portlet If selected, the Portlet will maintain the state or context of the Web Content Management Content or Component currently being displayed.
Other portlets and this portlet If selected, the Portlet will be aware of any Rendering Portlets currently broadcasting their state or context.

There are three buttons you can click after editing a Portlet:

  • Clicking OK saves changes and returns to view mode.
  • Clicking Cancel clears all changes and returns to view mode.
  • Clicking Apply saves all changes, but the configure mode remains open.
