Personalization Component Form - Personalization Component

This section is used to search for and select a reference to content based on Portal Personalization Rules and Content Spots, and to set the design and layout of the component.

Document ID This displays the path to the selected Personalization Rule or Content Spot. The following details are also displayed here:

  • Title.
  • Description.
  • Author.
  • Date Modified.

These details refer to the Personalization Rule or Content Spot itself, not the Personalization Component.

Search Click the Search button to launch a dialog for browsing or searching for Personalization Rules or Content Spots. (See below.)
Open Click the Open button to launch the selected Personalization Rule or Content Spot in WebSphere Portal. The Personalization Rule or Content Spot can then be edited and saved.
Clear Click the Clear button to clear the selected Personalization Rule or Content Spot from the Personalization Component. The form is returned to its initial blank state.

Separator

These Sections are used to enter text, tags and code to design the format of the rendered component.

The code entered in the Header and Footer designs will appear before and after the displayed Personalization Rule or Content Spot results.

The code entered into the "Component Design for each matching result" is used to format each Personalization Rule or Content Spot result.

The code entered into the "Separator" will appear between each displayed Personalization Rule or Content Spot result.

 

Content Spot Chooser Dialog

This dialog is used to select a Personalization Rule or Content Spot. Simply select a Personalization Rule or Content Spot from the index on the left side of the dialog. Information about each Personalization Rule or Content Spot is displayed on the right. Click OK once you have selected a Personalization Rule or Content Spot.
