Menu Component Options
Menu Search Options
Menus can search for the following in a web site:Searches can also be based on matching Category profiles:
- Content with matching Site Areas.
- Content with matching Authoring Templates.
- Content with matching Categories.
- Content with matching Keywords.
- A combination of these.
.
- Current User Categories.
- Display content profiled with the same categories as those selected by the current user (Category Selection Tree).
- Current Content Categories.
- Display content profiled with the same categories as those used to profile the current content.
- Current Content Keywords.
- The menu will display content profiled with the same keywords used to profile the current content.
Search Parameters
WCM Menu searches are "or" searches, not "and" searches. This means that a Menu that searches for two different Categories and an Authoring Template will return Content profiled with at least one of each profile type (one Category and one Template), not just Content that matches all of the parameters. Content that matches only one profile type (Template only) will not be returned.
Taxonomies
Taxonomies cannot be used in WCM Menu Searches. If you would like to have a Menu return results based on Content profiled with any Category in a Taxonomy, create a Top-Level Category.
Menu Sorting
Menus can be sorted in ascending or descending order by:
- Content Document Name.
- Content Document Description.
- Published Date.
- Last Modified Date.
- A combination of these (3 at most).
Menu Pages
The number of results displayed in a Menu can be set using the Results per Page field. E.g., A menu with Results per Page of 5 would display 5 records only. If there are more than five records, records 6 to 10 can be displayed in another Menu by entering a value of 2 into the Start Page field. This can be useful if you would like to display the results of a Menu in columns. Multiple Menu components would need to be created:
Results Per Page Start Page Records Displayed Menu Component 1 5 1 1 to 5 Menu Component 2 5 2 6 to 10 Menu Component 3 5 3 11 to 15 The three Menus could then be referenced within three different cells of a Table Row in a Presentation Template.
