File Resource Component

This Component takes a file from your local server and converts it to an Web Content Management item.

This means that:

  • A File can be referenced anywhere in your site regardless of the original file location or URL.
  • The File is automatically transferred to other servers during syndication.
File Resource Components can be used to allow users to download files. E.g., A PDF file can be stored as a File Resource Component. A link to this component can then be built in a Presentation Template or Rich Text Component to allow users to download the PDF file. The structure of the link is as follows:
<a href="<AptrixLibCmpnt name="FileResource" />">Link Text</a>

Web Content Management Resources include the following:

  • Image Components.
  • File Resource Components.
  • Resources uploaded to a Web Content Management environment when using the HTML Importer.

The aptrixjpe.properties file can be edited to determine how Web Content Management Resources are stored and used.

See Configure Resource Storage in the Installation Guide for further details.
