Component-Reference Component
A "Component-Reference" Component is used to store a reference to a Library Component as a Component.
Component-Reference Components can be used in two ways:
- A Component-Reference Component can be added to an Authoring Template. This then allows Content Creators to select an existing Component from the Component Library rather than build the component themselves.
- By referencing a Component-Reference Component in a Presentation Template or another Component, the component being displayed can be changed without having to change the Presentation Template or Component Design.
E.g., If you referenced a Component-Reference Component in a Presentation Template called "Featured Product", the Component referenced within the Component-Reference Component could be changed. The new Component would then be displayed within the Presentation Template without having to edit the Presentation Template.
