Building Result Sets

Data retrieved by Data Providers are returned in the form of Result Sets. They are literally a set of results grouped into a set of rows. Result Set Tags are used within formatting templates to determine how retrieved data will display on a page. They determine:

• What fields retrieved from the data source will be displayed.
• Which data will be looped.
• Set conditions for different results (e.g., what to do if no records are retrieved).

• Result Set Tags.

• A Simple Result Set.

• Loops.

• Field Variables.

• Conditional Tags.

• Paging Options.

• Embedded Result Sets.
