Fixpack fails to install
What kind of problem are you having when you try to install a fixpack
- "No fixes were found in the specified directory" dialog when attempting to execute the UpdateWizard.
- Failed installation with "Failed to perform extraction" error message in installation log file.
If none of these problems match yours, or these do not resolve your problem, view the log file created by the fix pack installer, which can be found in the WAS installation directory in the file /logs/update/[date_nnnnnn_wasversion_fixpackversion].log. Also, review the installation instructions as described in the readme file provided in the update/docs subdirectory of the fix pack and on the download web site. If the information provided does not solve your problem, see Troubleshooting the Installation. If that does not provide you with a resolution to your problem, contact IBM support for further assistance
"No fixes were found in the specified directory" dialog when attempting to execute the UpdateWizardThis problem can occur if you have extracted the fix pack outside of the WebSphere Application Server directory structure. If this is the case, try extracting the fix pack directly into the Websphere Application Server install root/update directory, as described in the readme files provided online and with the fix pack.
Failed installation with "Failed to perform extraction" error message in installation log fileThis problem can occur if there are Java processes running at the same time as the update. Try the installation again after stopping all Java processes, as described in the readme files provided online and with the fix pack.
