Setting Java compiler compliance

Use the Workspace Preferences page to set the Java™ compiler compliance.

To set the Java compiler compliance using the workshpace Preferences page:

  1. To open the Workspace preferences page, select

    Window | Preferences | Java | Compiler. The Compiler page opens:

  2. In the Compiler compliance field, select the compiler level that you want to use for your application. You must select the compiler level that is supported by the version of the WebSphere® Application Server that you are deploying to.

    1. If you are using WAS v7.0, select Java 1.6 compiler compliance.

    2. If you are using WAS v6.1 with the Fixpack for EJB 3.0, select Java 1.5 compiler compliance. For more information on Compiler versions supported by WAS, see ../../org.eclipse.wst.server.ui.astrxd.doc.user/topics/cwover.html
