JSF and SDO sample setup instructions

These samples demonstrate the relationship between JSF tags (in a JSP file) and service data objects (SDO).

Prerequisite:

Install the SDO feature:

  1. Open the IBM Installation Manager.

  2. Click

Modify. The Modify Packages page opens.

  3. In the package list, select the package group that you want to modify, then click Next.

  4. Expand

    Web Development Tools.

  5. Select

SDO - Domino and JDBC mediators, then click Next.

  6. Click

Modify. The SDO feature is installed.

All the setup is done automatically when you import the sample applications. When the import is complete, follow these steps to run a sample and test it on a server:

  1. Open the Web perspective (click

Window | Open Perspective | Web).

  2. Migrate your project to the current version of this product:

    1. Once the import is complete, the

Workspace Migration wizard opens with the

      JSFandSDO project selected. Click Next.

    2. The Migration Project Resources page of the wizard lists the resources that will be migrated. Click Finish. Your project is migrated. The Migration Results view displays the results of the migration.

  3. Ensure that you have an available supported server:

    1. Open the Servers view (click

Window | Show View | Servers).

    2. If the Servers view is empty, define a new server by right-clicking the Servers view and selecting

New | Server. Follow the instructions in the

      New Server wizard.

  4. Target the Web project against a runtime:

    1. In Enterprise Explorer, right-click

      JSFandSDOEAR and select

      Properties.

    2. Click

      Targeted Runtimes.

    3. Select a target runtime from the runtimes list. Click OK to apply the change and close the Properties.

  5. In Enterprise Explorer, right-click

    JSFandSDO and select

Run As | Run on Server. The

    Run On Server window opens.

  6. Select an installed server. The server needs to work with the runtime that you targeted against the Web project.

  7. Click Finish. If the server has not already been started, you are prompted to start it.

The JSF and SDO samples are published to the server. A Web browser window opens and displays a list of the various JSF and SDO samples that you can try.
