Enabling bidirectional languages for Web pages
You can enable bidirectional languages for your Web pages in Page Designer, for example Hebrew or Arabic.
Enable the bidirectional language from the Regional and Language Options setting of the Control Panel on your system.
Set the locale for the bidirectional language.
Page Designer uses the Unicode Bidirectional Algorithm (UBA) for calculating the positioning of each character and replaced element.
- To change the direction of text flow, click
Format | Direction, and then select
Left to Right or
Right to Left.
- To insert a bidirectional object element, click
Insert | Others | BDO,
- To change the shape of digits, click
Window | Preferences | Page Design. In the Digit shape group, choose either the
National,
Context or
Nominal radio button.
- To set the direction of text flow for a page, select
Page | Page Properties. In the
Direction field, select either
Left to right or
Right to left.
- To set the direction of text flow for a style sheet, in the Add Style dialog box, select
Other. In the
Direction field, select either
Left to right or
Right to left.
Note:
Not all bidirectional language features are supported on Linux®.
