Enabling bidirectional languages for Web pages
You can enable bidirectional languages for your Web pages in Page Designer, for example Hebrew or Arabic.
- Enable the bidirectional language from the Regional and Language Options setting of the Control Panel on your system.
- Set the locale for the bidirectional language.
Page Designer uses the Unicode Bidirectional Algorithm (UBA) for calculating the positioning of each character and replaced element.
- To change the direction of text flow, click
Format | Direction, and then select
Left to Right or
Right to Left.
- To insert a bidirectional object element, click
Insert | Others | BDO,
- To change the shape of digits, click
Window | Preferences | Page Design. In the Digit shape group, choose either the
National,
Context or
Nominal radio button.
- To set the direction of text flow for a page, select
Page | Page Properties. In the
Direction field, select either
Left to right or
Right to left.
- To set the direction of text flow for a style sheet, in the Add Style dialog box, select
Other. In the
Direction field, select either
Left to right or
Right to left.
Note: Not all bidirectional language features are supported on Linux®.
