Wireless computing support

Page Designer supports HTML 4.01, as well as XHTML standards for PvC-enabled application development, for example wireless applications.

The following standards are supported:

XHTML support for the Page Designer Design, Split and Source pages

  • XHTML 1.0 (Strict, Transitional and Frameset)

  • XHTML 1.1

  • XHTML Basic 1.0

  • XHTML Mobile Profile 1.0 (defined in WAP 2.0)
All of these are subsets of XHTML 1.0, which is based on the HTML 4.01 tags and attribute sets. No extended tags or attributes are introduced.

WCSS support in CSS Designer and Page Designer

WCSS is a profiled CSS for WAP 2.0, which defines a subset of CSS2 properties and some extended properties and formats to CSS2. CSS Designer (and Page Designer for embedded CSS files) recognizes WCSS, as well as CSS2 in editing functions.

Device profile support in Page Designer

Page Designer emulates the target device in the Design and Preview pages. The device profile includes the following device characteristics:

  • Screen size

  • Default styles (fonts and margins)
The Preview page is available only for Windows®.
