Testing a Web service in the WSDL Explorer

You can use the WSDL Explorer to test Web services that you have deployed to a Web server.

Prerequisite

Before you can test a Web service in the WSDL Explorer, deploy the Web service to a Web server.

The WSDL Explorer is part of the Web Services Explorer. There are two methods for launching the Web Services Explorer. Follow the steps below to launch the Web Services Explorer at any time, or select to launch the Web Services Explorer automatically when you deploy a Web service with the Deploy Web Service wizard.

To test a Web service in the WSDL Explorer:

  1. Right-click a Web service in a data development project, and then select

    Launch Web Services Explorer.

  2. Specify the URL for the WSDL document. Use the URL: http://server:port/context_root/wsdl.
