Platform support for extended transactional clients
Extended transactional clients are available for all Multiplatforms that support a base client. The clients are not available for z/OS .
A client application that is using an extended transactional client can connect to a queue manager of the following IBM MQ Version 9.0 products only:
- IBM MQ for AIX
- IBM MQ client for HP Integrity NonStop Server
- IBM MQ for IBM i
- IBM MQ for Linux
- IBM MQ for Windows
Although there are no extended transactional clients that run on z/OS, a client application that is using an extended transactional client can connect to a queue manager that runs on z/OS.
For each platform, the hardware and software requirements for the extended transactional client are the same as those requirements for the IBM MQ base client. A programming language is supported by an extended transactional client if it is supported by the IBM MQ base client and by the transaction manager we are using.
For information about the external transaction managers for all platforms except HP Integrity NonStop Server, see System Requirements for IBM MQ.For HP Integrity NonStop Server, see Plan the IBM MQ client environment on HP Integrity NonStop Server .
