Upgrading an IBM MQ queue manager using the OpenShift web console

An IBM MQ queue manager, deployed using the IBM MQ Operator, can be upgraded in OpenShift using the Operator Hub.

Before starting

• Log in to the OpenShift cluster's web console.
• Ensure that the IBM MQ Operator is using the desired Update Channel. See Upgrading the IBM MQ Operator and certified containers.

Procedure

1. From the navigation pane, click Operators > Installed Operators. All installed Operators in the specified project are displayed.
2. Select the IBM MQ Operator. The IBM MQ Operator window is displayed.
3. Navigate to the Queue Manager tab. The Queue Manager Details window is displayed.
4. Select the queue manager that we want to upgrade.
5. Navigate to the YAML tab.
6. Update the following fields, where necessary, to match the desired IBM MQ queue manager version upgrade.
   • spec.version
   • spec.license.licence

7. Save the updated queue manager YAML.
